Billy Reid Men’s Fall 2016

The Billy Reid Fall 2016 Men’s collection is a ruggedly refined blend of iconic American masculinity and Southern gentility. The grit of Sam Peckinpah’s film “Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia”, the attitude of café racers, prints from Native American cultures, and the folk poetry of late 70’s Bruce Springsteen; inform the collection in its off duty rakishness. Introducing new fabrications and treatments to the collection, the Billy Reid man for fall 2016 is an evolution of the brand’s Southern dandy meets traditional American work wear aesthetic.
The heavy duty outwear that has become a cornerstone for the brand returns for fall 2016 in the form of a double breasted Horweeen leather coat. The density of the cordovan leather wears in over a lifetime, allowing its character to develop with age. The Native American blanket lining is a new detail for the season and carries into the lining of a camel moleskin suit. The shirting and hand tailored suiting demonstrate distinctive cuts and silhouettes, while new plaids, Irish tweeds, and American loomed wools speak to the rebel, man on the go sensibility of Warren Oates in “Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia.” The collection also includes heavy gauge knits, broken in oxfords, and classic denim.
The footwear category of the collection expands via the introduction of more lace up boot styles. All of the footwear is handmade in Italy with luxe skins such as supple calfskin, smoked cordovan, and aged nubuck. The durability of the footwear and the attention to details such as antique eyelets, waxed laces, and flex soles for comfort are signatures for the Billy Reid footwear collection.
The utilitarian function of clothes that transition easily between the worlds of rural and downtown resonates in the Billy Reid collection from season to season. Fall 2016 is the continuation of that rugged yet refined blend.
