Fall 2016 marks the debut of men’s footwear from Shipley & Halmos. Utilizing the same modern but classic-inspired design approach from their apparel collection, designers Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos will introduce three styles – Lucien, Raymond, and Jack – for the first season. All styles are handmade and include washes and color treatments developed exclusively for the brand.
Shipley & Halmos established consistent silhouettes in their suiting, shirting, and knitwear categories for their male customer and the same standard will be set for their footwear. The staple that will carry over from season to season is the Lucien oxford. Derived from Sam and Jeff’s inability to find a versatile shoe that can be worn effortlessly with a suit or casually with a pair of jeans, the Lucien’s shape includes a clean leather upper, contrast stacked leather heel, and subtle curving at the inside of the sole. Colors and skins include washed black and camel cow leather, midnight navy nubuck, and drum-dyed chocolate with a wax and oil finish.
The seven-hole Raymond lace-front military boot utilizes a combination of cow leather that is washed in the upper and waxed in the heel and toe caps. Details include nickel lace hooks and heavy-gauge stitching for added reinforcement as well as the signature circle, square, and triangle debossed artwork on the sole. Like all styles in the collection, the Shipley & Halmos label is printed onto the leather foot bed.
Inspired by a vintage pair of boots Sam has worn for years, the Jack side-zip Beatle boot is mod in shape, but contemporary details refresh the 60’s era style. The textured kid skin upper, available in black and caramel brown, is denser than the skins in the other styles in the collection, enabling it to be a shoe that has longevity and looks better with age.
