Burkman Brothers 2016 Autumn/Winter Collection

Fall 2016 sees designers Ben and Doug Burkman infuse the Burkman Bros collection with fresh inspiration from their far-flung travels across the globe combined with their comfortably cool design aesthetic. The brothers traveled from Asia to Europe and back to New York, hitting destinations such as Kyoto, Copenhagen, and Nova Scotia. With no shortage of eclectic influences this season the Burkman Bros tie them together to create a well thought out, cohesive collection.
For Fall 2016, Burkman Bros offer a wide range of separates and outerwear, providing wardrobe essentials that stand apart with original patterns, relaxed, yet decadent fabrics, and an overall unique utilitarian take on classic American menswear. Attention to subtle detail was key in this collection, leather trims give shirts a more rugged look, ikat plackets make basic oxford shirts more intriguing, and contrast pockets add interest to a casual drawstring pant or shirt.
Comfort and warmth were also well considered for fall 2016; the pieces appear ready to take on anything the weather can throw at them. Fleece is seen in cozy pullovers, cargo shorts and pants, and knitwear in the form of cardigans and heavy sweaters, has a Nordic God-meets-Gurkhan Warrior feel. The outerwear is comfortably utilitarian in the form of a hooded down filled parka in denim and an army green hooded car coat, both protective and durable for the active Burkman Bros man.
There is also a wide array of bottoms this season, from an easy to wear nylon twill traveling pant to a classic urban work wear chino. Canvas drawstring camo pants and contrast hunter pants emphasize the quest for the outdoors tone in the collection.
With a skilled restraint and keen eye for detail, Burkman Bros maintain their masculine edge for Fall 2016. As Doug and Ben Burkman continue to travel and adventure to new places and explore new inspirations, they constantly reach new and exciting ground with their designs.
